December 2013 - Using Mindfulness and Acceptance-Based Approaches for Insomnia with Jason Ong, Ph.D.  December 8th webinar from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30. Mindfulness and acceptance-based approaches are rapidly emerging as ways to help cope with stress and improve sleep. This webinar consists of three components: 1) An overview of the theoretical underpinnings of mindfulness meditation, 2) Discussion of the application of mindfulness-based strategies for individuals with insomnia, and 3) A review of the empirical evidence on the use of mindfulness-based approaches in treating insomnia. Jason Ong, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist and Certified in Behavioral Sleep Medicine. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Behavioral Sciences and Director of the Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program at Rush University Medical Center. His research and clinical interests involve behavioral and non-drug treatments for insomnia and other sleep disorders. He has led an NIH-funded study to develop and test mindfulness-based therapy for insomnia (MBTI) and has published several papers on mindfulness and health.    http://www.mindbodymedicinenetwork.com/Webinars.html
