We think we fear losing but we actually fear the unknown. The unknown causes the greatest anxiety for most negotiators. Fearful negotiating means negotiating from a position of lack (competitive bargaining), instead of a position of plenty (collaborating to solve a problem).
This introduction helps you to recognize why negotiating can be so difficult for most people and gives you tools to overcome your fear.
