The latest edition of Emily Post's etiquette book has a chapter devoted to social networking! Over the next few months we will share tips from her book on all things online etiquette. According to the book's editors, while you may not physically be in the presence of someone else with respect to social media, "it's still an interaction between two people that calls for the same manners as though youw ere in a room with them."
TIP: Everything online is public and permanent so be careful when you post information about yourself or others. The editors correctly point out that if you post a compromising picture of a friend, you can't take it back you should ask yourself "If I posted this on a bulletin board for anyone to read, would that be okay?"
